European organic extra virgin olive oil and European organic avocado are produced in accordance with the rules of the European Union on organic farming and form part of a production, control and certification system applied at every stage of the chain.
What the system means for both products
Organic. Produced in accordance with the European Union’s regulatory framework for organic farming, with certified practices that respect natural processes.
Controlled. European organic production is subject to a system of official controls and certification, with rules applied across the whole Union.
Traceable. Traceability is a fundamental principle of the European agri-food framework: the framework requires the ability to monitor the product through the stages of the chain.
The EU organic logo
European organic extra virgin olive oil and European organic avocado are covered by the European Union’s organic production and certification rules. The EU organic logo identifies products certified under those rules.

Food-based dietary guidelines are issued by national authorities. The guidelines below are those of this programme’s target markets, France and Germany.
